trial expired -- need data

I used a trial version of Project and entered data on it. Now I need the
data but can't access it because the trial has expired. Is there a way to
retrieve this data?

If not then I'm not impressed. Microsoft did not provide a warning that
data must be saved in another application or will be lost.

JC,
Hopefully at some point in your trial period you did save your .mpp
file. If not, you are out of luck. If you did, then buy the Project
application, open you saved file and continue working.

With regard to whether Microsoft provides a warning or not, it should be
previous obvious to users who have a trial version that the "open" time
is limited. I've never used a trial version of Project but I find it
hard to believe you were not told periodically how much time you had
remaining on your trial period. Even when a user buys a full version of
Project it must be activated within 60 days and the application gives
ample warnings about that during the period.

MS DOES provide that warning, in two forms. First they clearly state the
trial version will time out after a certain time period and no longer
function. Second, and even more important, they state repeatedly that trial
versions of software are NOT intended to be used for production work, ie,
anything that you do for real that you need to keep. The license is only
for you to experiment with it with non-imprtant date so you can make up your
mind if it'll work for you. As soon as you decide to use it for real work,
you should buy the regular product BEFORE putting anything into it that you
need to keep. The same thing also applies to beta test versions - they're
just that, TEST versions and not intended to be used for real day-to-day
work that you'll need to keep.
