Trouble connecting text boxes

I'm having trouble connecting/linking text boxes that are at the end of a story chain to any new text boxes... any suggestions?

What steps are you taking?

I've found the Help files do a very nice job of explaining how to link the
boxes. Do a search on Autoflow. (I'm not being terse - the Help files really
are helpful in this case.)

Are you using Publisher 98?

If you are not using Publisher 98, what version of Publisher are you using?

I'm curious why you asked about 98? Was there an issue with autflow in Pub
98 or didn't it exist at that time? (Isn't it Pub 98 that you dislike?)

Thanks for your replies. But the specific problem I'm having is connecting any new text boxes to the end of an already created string of connected text boxes. When I use the link button on the last text box of the series, I cannnot link it to any new, empty, text boxes. I don't know if it's a program limitation or computer bug. The Help section provides no information about this particular issue. Also, I'm using Publisher 2003.

Do you get any error messages? You should be able to do this very easily,
if you're definitely using the last text box of the chain and an empty
target text box.

No, I don't get any error messages at all...
Only thing that happens is the cursor icon remains a pitcher and it gives a warning beep when I click into the empty, target text box. And, this problem ONLY occurs to already connected text boxes in a publisher file that I've worked in and saved a few times. Under other circumstances, I'm able to connect text boxes without problems.
