Trouble w/ SP3 intall

This question has been asked in various forms in this Newsgroup, but I can't
seem to find a precise answer.

I have Office 2000 installed on my notebook (WinXP personal).

I downloaded and installed SP1a successfully.

My Add or Remove Programs list shows: Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Standard and
Microsoft Word SR-1. (These are listed separately. I'm not sure why. Perhaps
because Word was preinstalled OEM on the notebook, and I installed my Office
2000 disk (pre-SR) over this, to get Excel onto the notebook. I don't use any
other members of the Office suite.)

I downloaded SP3. During the course of the installation, a dialog box comes up
asking for the CD-ROM with SR-1 on it. Apparently, there's still something
missing, and Office wants to install it before getting to SP3 itself. But of
course I don't have an SR-1 CD-ROM; I downloaded SR1(a). When I don't supply
the CD-ROM, the installation fails.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Jay
