Trouble with Rules not working on replies

Hello,

I'm just beginning to organize my mail with rules, so that copies of
messages from and to certain people get moved to a specific folder. Those
messages also get assigned to a certain category for future searching.

The way I've done it is that there is a rule for each person I want it
applied to. I thought I could make a rule do something sent to Person A OR
Person B, but that didn't seem to work. It only worked when a message was
sent to both people. So I've made rules for individuals.

My main problem is that they don't always work. It seems that it works as
long as I send a new message to that person. However, when I reply to that
person, a copy isn't moved and it isn't assigned to the category. I'm still
sending a message to that person, so I'm confused.

Additionally, if a message is cc'd to me, but is really to someone else, it
doesn't always get moved and assigned.

What am I missing?

We'd have to see exactly what your rules are and the messages to which you
want them to apply in order to tell. It would also be helpful to know your
version of Outlook.
