troubleshooting delete

I have a few messages that when I try to delete them, it
says "could not delete message" How can I remedy this so
that I can delete those messages. I'm willing to remedy
this in any matter thought the simplest would be prefered

Empty your Deleted Items folder and/or run scanpst.exe against the pst-file.

Also opening the message-> Edit-> Edit Message-> typing a space somewhere in
the message-> Save the message will allow you to delete a message in some
cases.

those remedies are not available to me. I don't have the
program and the edit menu or any other for that matter
doesn't have edit message

scanpst.exe is located at C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\MSMAPI\<localID>

To have the edit function you need to open the message itself.

Also try turning of the preview pane and then delete the message.

I don't have that folder and yes I did open the message
in its own window and the option still wasn't given to
me. I'm using OE 6.
