trying to find the project manager that meets our needs

We have 6 people in a department trying to work on multiple projects at one
time. Several overlap with multiple people. We need a way to track all of
this and see each others projects. What is the best solution for us?

Riri,
Microsoft Project certainly has the capability to plan and track
multiple projects with multiple resources. The exact approach depends on
the type of project and what information you want to track. For example,
the 6 people (labor resources) could be put into a resource pool and
their effort could then be assigned to tasks in each of the multiple
projects. Dates, work effort, cost, etc. for each project and each
resource can be tracked in any number of ways using this approach. Is it
the best solution for you? Who knows. We would need more detail.

Regardless of the approach you use, one person must become the key,
tracking all projects. Project has the capability to pull in all of
these projects, but I suspect a 2nd concern might be shared
resources. In any case, having a central control will be essential.
