Turn off auto capitalization feature

While using Word 2007 I typed eSATA and it was automatically changed to
Esata. I spent considerable amount of time searching through the menu for
capitalization control feature and could not find it. Could someone tell me
how to change Esata to eSATA?

Go to Office button > Word Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options. There
are several automatic capitalization options there.

I tried typing eSATA in various ways, with different sets of options, and I
could find only one situation that makes the change you described: If the
option "Correct accidental usage of cAPS LOCK key" is checked, and you type
eSATA by turning on Caps Lock and using the Shift key to reverse it and make
the 'e' lower case.

One solution would be to turn off that particular option. Another solution
would be to change your typing habit and not turn on Caps Lock, but hold the
Shift key to type the SATA part. The best solution, I think, is to create an
AutoCorrect entry that changes 'esata' to 'eSATA', and then just type the
term in all lower case, letting Word make the caps for you.
