Turning of the PANE

How do I set up Visio so that when I open a drawing file the stencils and
task panes do not open too.

Open your file and then close the elements you don't want and finally click
Save As... (and make sure the 'Workspace' option is checked on the drop down
arrow of the 'Save' button.
