Two ? re: Project Workspaces in PS 2007

1. Can the administrator of Project Server TEMPORARILY turn off the
ability to create workspaces? Either take that capability away from
certain security categories or turn off the feature altogether while
keeping the provisioning in place? How?

2. As an option, can you cause Project Server NOT to give
Administrator rights to the project manager who created the Project
Workspace? How?

We are implementing EPM in 3 phases-- Project Server, Portfolio
Server, then Methodology Integration which will include Project
Workspaces. I have two goals 1) Keep beta users from messing with
workspaces right now until we are ready to learn TOGETHER. 2) Once
created, keep the PMs from messing around "under the hood" on the
workspaces. Its tough to make programmers NOT try to get their hands
wet with everything available, even if it means damaging the link with
the Project accidentally.

Hi Andy,

you can tick on the deny for Windows Sharepoint service in the PM group and
the PM's will not be able to create workspaces. Be aware that this will give
ou queue error messages, but as long as you know about them you should be ok,

(thanks Paul for this great tip) :)

Hope this does the trick for you
