Two tasks in one click

Is it possible to create an action button that can perform
2 tasks on click:
1st: go to next slide
2nd: then open an existing file automatically after 5
seconds

(I am using PPT 2002)

Yes, but quite in the way you might think.

In a two slide presentation you would have your navigation button to move to
the next slide. On the second slide use "Insert > Object > Create From
File" Browse to the application and select it. Once it is on the slide
right click it, and select Custom Animations. Then select Add Effects. At
the bottom of the drop down select "Object Actions" and select Run. You may
now set the delay time as with any other animation.
