Types of Digital Signature

Hi. Can you point me to an artical or something that will help me understand
the different TYPES of digital signature (if there are any). I'm very
confused about all this. It seems like there are at least three purposes to a
digital signature:
1. Digitally Signing Code (e.g. VBA, etc.)
2. Supporting SSL on My Web Site
3. Encrypting Email Messages, etc.

Are these all the same thing? Completely different things I have to buy? Help?
