unable to add email account to microsoft outlook 2003

i installed office 2003 some 3 months ago and now wish to use the office
outlook but i do not get the option from the tools menu to add email account
.... i really am a noob at this . any hints?

Try it from Control Panel's Mail applet.

cheers ... i ahve added it ... someone told me that as it is a hotmail
account i may not be able to use it through outlook ... is thsi the case?

if this is a new hotmail account, and you haven't paid for it, then the
answer is no, you can't use it with Outlook.

no it is an account i have had for about 6/7 years but having added it to
outlook when i go to send a message i have composed i am instructed that i
need to register an account .... do you know wht that is all about?

MSN has stopped allowing access to their free Hotmail accounts, for the most
part. This restriction began in Septermber of 2004.

You could check out Gmail from Google.

There's always yahoo. I'm really shocked you can't get google in the UK.
I'm sure there are a bunch of others as well.

certainly can - needs an invitation AFAIK -
to the OP - if in the UK you can sign up for a Yahoo UK email account which
(AFAIK) can still be accessed by Outlook.....
