For a few months, my computer hasn't been able to install Office Updates. I
finally got serious about fixing it - but have been unsuccessful (day #2 at
this). The message I get says I don't have Windows Installer installed
properly. I have
1. Reinstalled XP, sp3 - didn't help
2. Reinstalled latest Windows Installer - didn't help.
3. Tried to uninstall Office (so could reinstall) - won't uninstall due to
Windows Installer
4. Downloaded Cleanup Utility - it won't run because of no Windows Installer
5. Checked the Services - I don't have an MSI Service (though have an
msiexec.exe in Windows/System32
6. Ran Microsoft virus checker (I have one, but thought I'd doublecheck). It
found nothing except VNC which I installed on my computer and want (and
installed it three years ago)
I'm out of ideas..... (and KBs) Suggestions?
