unable to login

Sometimes users have had a problem opening a database in access 2000,
receiving the following message: "The database has been placed in a state by
user 'username' on machine 'machinename' that prevents in from being opened
or locked".

This message has just started recently and I have not made any changes to
the security of the database. the odd thing is, one person attempts to login
and gets the error message and another person could attempt to login right
after and have no problems.

Also, we have a few remote users, but this has never been an issue before.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Check to make sure that all users have full rights to the folder that the
database is stored in.

Then have everyone get out and check to make sure the .ldb file disappears.
If it doesn't, then you will need to delete it.
