Unable to open Word files

When I click on a Word file I get a file not found message. If I close the
message popup and click on the file again, it opens. Do I have an incorrect
setting or is my AVG antivirus program causing this, or what. I have Vista
Ultimate and Word 2007.

This also happens when trying to open .doc files that are email attachments.
