unable to open your default mail folders

On a windows 2000 sp 3 computer using outlook 2000, i
recieve the error message 'unable to open your default
mail folders' but i only recieve this error on one
particular profile. I have tried repairing it and also
uninstalling outlook and reinstalling it, but to no
avail. Any help would be appreciated, but removing the
profile is not acceptable.

Delete and recreate the profile.
