Unable to save word documents to disc

Hello,

I am trying to save my edited(daily)40-50 pg documents
(word) from my desktop to my zip disc, floppy disc, or my
documents for back up purposes. This a recent problem.

"Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission
error."

When I try to click on 'Ok' it doesn't click through, and
all operations freeze. I then have to shut down and re-
boot to begin again but I have lost my new
additions/corrections to the word documentfor the day!

Interestingly and maybe related; for three years when I
try to open any word document on my desk top a timy little
mssg appears;

Cannot open word document"...I then clik on 'ok' and the
document opens immediatly. No problem. Maybe this is
related in some way to my storage problem above.

You should never - repeat NEVER - save (or open) documents to removable
media. It is the most certain cause of document corruption. Always save to
the hard drive and COPY to the removable media.
