Unable to see queries with linked tables

I am running Word 2003 mailmerge and I am using Access 97
queries with linked tables. The queries are not visible.
But if I merge with an Access 97 query with tables that
are not linked I can see the query.

When both products were office 97 this was not an issue. I
was to see queries that have linked tables.

From the Tools menu, select Options and then go to the General tab and check
the "Confirm conversions at open" box. Then try the different connection
methods that are presented to you when you attach the datasource to the
mailmerge main document.
