Unable to update actual hours by day on My Tasks view

We have a Project Server 2007 installation. We have timesheets turned off,
and are using the PWA My Tasks view to enter actual hours. We have the
Tracking Method set to 'Actual work done and work remaining', and the 'Force
project managers to use the progress reporting method specified above for all
projects' and 'Resources should report their hours worked every day' boxes
checked.

For most of our projects, when they are published, the My Tasks view shows
'0h of 8h (0 %)' in the Progress column - and when we click on the cell, it
pops up a window with each day of the week for data entry. On some projects,
though, we just see '0h' in the Progress column and cannot enter time by day.

Does anyone know what is causing this, or have any hints? We recently
installed SP1 on the desktops but not the servers (got delayed - don't ask
:=) and I'm wondering if this is the cause. It seems to be for
recently-pubslihed projects.

Has anyone else seen this?

It seems to me not all your projects are using the same tracking
method
Actual Work done and remaining work will display 0h and is not
updatable from spreadsheet
Hours of Work done per period will display 0h of 40h (0%) and is
updatable on spreadsheet

So it is likely you have been changing the tracking method. You need
to fix this method and republish all your project plans to be
consistent on My Task page.

If you apply Server SP1 you have an alternative approach which
effectively turns My Task page into a timesheet. Edit My Tasks
webpart and set PWA hours per day setting to on. This enables you to
enter hours per day directly on My Task page without need of the
spreadsheet pop-up.

Mike
