"Unexpected Results" when replacing resource on published project

Erik

When replacing a resource on a published project, I get
the warning that doing so may cause "unexpected results".
I have been unable to find any details regarding what
these results might be, or where they show up. I was
wondering if there is anything documented about this.
Thanks,
Erik

"Unexpected results" includes things like the schedule changing dramatically
because the resource has nonworking time during the life of the task, or an
overallocation occuring for the newly assigned resource. I have not seen
documentation about this, but do not worry. Replace the resource with a new
resource and then carefully examine the project for changes. I would also
be a good idea to examine the Resource Usage view to make sure you have not
overallocated the resource against other projects in the portfolio. Hope
this helps.

Thanks Dale, it does help. I was looking for what I would
consider "real" problems like messed up linkages in the
MSP or MSP_WEB tables. From what I could see in my
testing, everything seemed OK. I was just concerned about
the ambiguity of "unexpected results".

I would agree that the prospect of "unexpected results" is a bit unnerving!
