Unfiled Notes

I cannot write to or access my Unfiled Notes.

If I do a screen clipping (windows logo key + S) the message I recieve says:
'OneNote was not able to save the screen clipping in your Unfiled Notes
Section. However, you can paste the screen clipping into your notes or into
other programs'

I am able to successfully paste the screen clipping.

If I click on the Unfiled Notes notbook I get a message that says:
'OneNote cannot access the location of your Unfiled Notes section. To change
the location for Unfiled Notes, click Options on the Tools menue and then
click the Save category.'

If I go to Tools/Options/Save the path listed for Unfiled Notes Section is
wrong. If I click Modify (assuming that modify means to modify the path) it
asks me to 'select a file' rather then to 'select a folder'. And there are
no files in the Unfiled Notes folder to select.

I'm very confused. Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

OneNote is looking for a section, not a notebook. However, this is
fixable...
Open the Unfiled Notes folder you made as a notebook. Click to create a new
section. Name that new section "Unfiled Notes". This will create a section
file called "Unfiled Notes.one". Close that notebook.

Go back to Tools--> Options, Save and try the modify again. This time,
select the section you just created. After that, you should be able to do
the things you want to do.
