Uninstall activated copy, reinstall to same machine

I have a few Office 2003 activated installations that I must downgrade to
Office XP for other software compatibility.

If I uninstall the activated copies, install Office XP and activate it and
later on remove Office XP and re-install the original Office 2003, will that
work for activation purposes?
