uninstalled office and cannot get it back on

i did an update to office and it was not working
correctly. i did an uninstalll with the disk and it said
it was successful. i rebooted. when i went to install,
it woould only give me repair, add/remove/ uninstall
option. i tried repair and it did not work. i tried add
and it did not work.

i then went into c drive and renamed the office folder.
that did not help.

out of despiration i loaded office 97. outlook will not
run.

i really want 2000 back on. i have a machine running
windows 2000 that was upgraded from millenium.

can you help?
