Unknown Errors Shut down

Does anyone know why word is all of a sudden showing a unknown error message
and then shutting down. I have been losing some of my work. I am saving, but
I should not have to save every 2 minutes, when I am working on a document.
Word shuts down and restarts itself. Please Help.
