unreadable notepad file

KoKo

I was trying to open a file and was asked what program do I want to open the
file with, I chose notepad and was told that the file was too large would I
like to open it in Wordpad, I said yes, and when it opens it is unreadable
code that appears. How can I get it to open so that I can read the file? It
no longer gives me the option to open with another program. Using winows 98
second edition.

And this has what to do with Office exactly? Post in a 98 group idiot!

What crawled up your ass and died, Tick? (S)he asked an honest question,
even if (s)he is asking it in the wrong place. It wouldn't be that hard
*not* to be rude about it.

KoKo:

What kind of file is it that you're trying to open? What is the file
exention? The folks in microsoft.public.win98.apps might be able to help
you better. Just FYI.

See? That wasn't so hard.

You can either:

1. Change the association for that extension in Explorer-View-Folder
Options-File Types.

or

2. Change what you open it with by selecting the file, holding the
Shift key down then the rightclick will have an Open With option.

It would be helpful if you re posted in a Win98 group and told us what
the extension was on the file so you may get some advice on a program
to open it with. Try:
