Unwanted Icons

I just installed Office 2003, and there are some icons in the task bar
area (near the clock) that I don't want, including handwriting, drawing
pad, help, and restore. What are they, and how do I get rid of them.
Also, is speech recognition still installed by default? If so, how do I
get rid of that?

This is the default menu installed by Microsoft Office, to get rid o
them just right click on the toolbar and click close.
