updated office old docs wont open

hi i just updated microsoft office and now my old work documents wont open.
There error says that they are not available. Any suggestions please?

Can you give a few more details? For example:

1. What updating did you do? What version of Office are you using now, and
what version were you using before?
2. Do the documents physically exist on your hard drive? Can you click
Start/Search and locate the .DOC files? These are .DOC files, right?
3. What version of Windows are you using?

BTW, in step #2 above, if you find a .DOC file and double click it to open,
what happens?

As a first step try running a repair on your Office installation, go to the
Help menu and select Detect and Repair (for any Office apps).
What updates did you install?
What version of Office do you have?
