Updated to XP & Lost my old emails

I used Windows 98 and outlook express to read my emails.
Just updated to Windows XP Professional. The upgrade
worked, email and internet work but I lost all old emails
(saved items, sent items, etc.). Are these lost forever?

If you don't get an answer on this board, I suggest that
you post your message on an Outlook Express newsgroup.
Outlook and Outlook Express share a name but are
completely different products.
