Upgrading from Office 2000 to 2003 -- outlook ?

If i install 2003, will my Outlook be automatically updated, with all my inbox being transferred? I don't want this upgrade, if it screws with my current set-up..
And is 2003 much better than 2000? thanks

1. Yes.
2. Very much so.

As with all software installations, make a backup of your important files
beforehand. For Outlook, this would be the .pst file.
