Upgrading to OL2003 to increase PST size

Can you import messages from Outlook XP and still take advantage of the 20GB
limit in Outlook 2003? Do you have to go through the import process or can
simply point OL2003 to the existing .PST file?

Yes.

The size limit is part of the PST format and has nothing to do with whther
or not you use the PST with Outlook 2003, so opening an Outlook 2002 PST in
Outlook 2003 won't automatically change the size limit.

Don't import, though. Create a new PST in Outlook 2003 and make it your
delivery location. Then open the Outlook 2002 PST with File>Open>Outlook
Data File. Use copy or drag-and-drop to move the items from the old PST to
the new. Never import a PST if you can avoid it because you can lose data
or, at the very least, find that all your items dates have changed to the
time of import.
