Urgent! Need to keep name & initial on same line

I have the widow/orphan box checked but the initial does not stay on the same line with the name. What am I doing wrong?

I think what you want is a non-breaking space (ctrl-shift-space). Widows and
orphans is about controlling how paragraphs split over a page-break.

Widow/orphan control prevents a single line of a multiple-line paragraph
from being stranded at the top or bottom of a page. What you need is a
non-breaking space (Ctrl+Shift+Space) between the initial and the name.
