URGENT Resource Problem - Please Help :-)

The problem...

Task A = 8 man days of work, 5 for 'PMO' - 1 for 'PM' - 2 for 'Other'

I have lots of 'Other' resource and 1 'PM'...so no problem BUT I only have 2
'PMO' for 5 man days of work

By my calculations the duration should come out as 2.5 days

But project has set the duration at 1.6 days? and said that PMO is over
allocated...

....but it wouldn't be if it said 2.5 days duration

Hi Elle,

If you wish the task to take 2.5 days -- enter the task and set is as fixed
duration, non-effort driven. Assign the PMO and enter 40 hours of work.
Project will calculate 200% assignment units. Assign the PM at 8 hours of
work (40% assignment units) and assign Other at 16 hours of work (80%
assignment units.)

Hi Elle,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

If you plan for 2 PMO to do 5 days of work, the Duration will be 2.5 days.
You need to enter PMO at 200% to use 2 of them, which will give your the 2.5
days you want.
