Use format-painter from one page to the next

I'm using Visio Pro 2003. I'd like to use the Format Painter to copy
formats from one page to another, where each page is represented by a
tab at the bottom left of the visio window. Neither single nor double
clicking the Format Painter on the source page causes it to remain
depressed when I've moved over to the destination page. Is there a
way? Thanks.

I tried the keyboard shortcuts in vein.
This isn't the only issue in Visio with the following workaround :
copy a temporary shape to the other page.

Try a suggestion to Microsoft.
