In order to apply Branding guidelines i need to produce a custom color picker
whenever somebody needs to change a color. I've been able to make the picker
and it will apply the requested color but the button I create to apply it
looses it's functionality. Do I somehow have to link it to the template? And
what about if the laptop is not conneted to the server? Can I make it work
both connected to the server and to a local copy ?

No, you need to create an add-in that you install on each PC that needs this
feature.

Create an ADD-IN with TOOLBARS that run macros

Hard to say. You haven't mentioned how a server fits into this picture yet ;-)

You generally don't want to share add-ins among multiple computers. Install a
copy on each PC that needs one.

Thanks for the reply Steve, I've come to the same conclusion.
I seem to remain with another issue on the Office 2000 Package and
deployment wizard (ODE). An AddIn in Powerpoint should be installed in the
current users "\application data\microsoft\addins\"folder. How can I select
it to have the Addin placed in the correct location?

You might want to ignore that advice. You can install PPT addins in pretty
much any folder you like (and installing them in the addins folder won't make
them automatically load).
