User ID and PW for access to web page?

Hello,

How do I restrict access to web pages on my web to those viewers that I have
assigned a user name and password to?

I'm trying to create a web that is not completely public but is open to only
certain folks.

Does anyone have and knowledge as to how exactly this is done?

Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions

Or you can also do it w/ a database

Once you are on your server click on TOOLS and then
SELECT PERMISSIONS and you can add user id's and passwords
