Hi,

I currently have office 2003 student and teacher edition.
It was initially installed on the 'main' home pc although
I recently had to change the motherboard and reformat the
hard drive. Office 2003 student and teacher comes with a
3 user license agreement. Presumably when I reinstall on
the home pc it will count the installation as the second
machine I install it on, as the hardware will be
different (motherboard and processor). The problem is, i
also want to install it on my brothers pc and my pc later
in the summer. Even though it is only installed on 3 PCs,
presumeably it will count as 4 as the hardware on the
home pc will have changed. Is there a way i can get round
this to acivate office on my pc in the summer?

Hope you can help

Hi James,

When activating on your modified machine
use the telephone activation method and explain the situation
to the activation technician.

Well I phoned up and explained the situation. The first response was that i couldn't install it on 3 computers (despite the big sticker on the front claiming I could) then I don't think the customer representative really understood the situation and just gave me an activation number so no doubt i'll have to ring again when I try to install it on the third pc...oh well

Thanks for your help
