Using '03 on '98 software

I have a person trying to use her own version of presentations which are done
on MS Office '03 power point. The network has Office '98 software installed
on the computers already and the newer version will not play with the older
software. What can I do (cheaply) to get the software to run?

Are you using Macs? Office 98 (not to be confused with Windows 98) is a Mac
version of Office. If you are using PCs (and just got the version number
wrong), you might consider getting the 2003 version of the Viewer. That
should let her use most of the new features and let you view them.
Alternatively, before creating a presentation, she should go to the Tools
menu and select Options. Under the Edit tab, she should check the three
boxes under "Disable new features." This will make her presentations almost
entirely compatible with PowerPoint 97 and later.
