I have scanned a form that I want to be able to copy and paste data from
excel into. How can I save it for excel to recognize it as a template?

About al you can do with that image is use it as a "background picture"
for a form. See Excel Help and forms.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but when you scan a form or a
document, it essentially becomes an image or picture.. it is possible to
scan a text document and retrieve text, but I doubt very much that you would
get a useable form..

What is it that you are trying to achieve overall?..

I want to be able to print selected data from excel onto a pre-printed form,
in all the correct spaces.

You could scan it with OCR software but that will only give you text. You'd
still have to cut and paste the data in the form. It's an ugly thought.
You'd end up going thru a lot of work that could be more easily done without
the scanning step.
