Using and connecting office 97 access on a windows 2000 Professional OS

Need to use office 97 shared database on windows 2000
Professional OS. Company plans to buy updated Access
program when we have our new computers. Until then, I
use a new IBM computer w/Windows 2000 Professional OS
that needs to connect to the Access database on our
server. The programmer has followed the directions he
used on Millenium 2000, Windows 98, with no success. Can
anyone help with this

There should be no problem with that combination.

When you say "The programmer has followed the directions he used on
Millenium 2000, Windows 98, with no success", what exactly does "no success"
mean? What directions were followed?
