Using bold with *

[H]

In other Word programs I've used...I was always able to use an * to make
words, sentences, headers....etc bold by placing it before & after that
section. Now, in Word 2003, it doesn't seem to work for me. Is there a
setting somewhere I should check? It seems like that's what I did before,
but I can't remember where to find it. Please help.

Go to Tools > Autocorrect > Autoformat as you type and tick the box for
*bold* and _italic_ with real formatting, then click OK.
