Using Citrix for MSPS 2007

I know there have been lots of performance improvements in MSPS 2007. My
questions is around using Citrix for all users of MSPS 2007 (2000+ users
including TM & PM).

1. Is it advisable to use Citrix for all users of MSPS 2007?

2. I know the Offline mode doesn't work in case of citrix. How about other
features which won't be utilized if we use citrix?

3. Without citrix, all the connectivity between client & server would
distributed. With Citrix everything would be between MSPS server & Citrix.
Any comments on that.

4. One benefit of using Citrix for all users is the same environemnt for all
users & avoiding issue of configurations & desktop support. We can configure
everything right on citrix & everyone would have same environment. Without
citrix or if used for remote users only, we might have to deal with desktop
issues like connectivity issues, active X control issues etc.

5. MSPS 07 features that would be affected by using Citrix?

Thanks in advance

I think the important thing to remember when architecting such a solution is
that users need connection information and local cache persistence. Inasmuch
as most Citrix or TS environments would not allow user access to clear the
cache at the folder level, this might be a big obstacle for the pre-SP1
version of Project. A lot also depends on what other environmental presets
and constraints are forced upon you.

Also, just be aware of sizing. Opening Winproj on my PC uses 20MB, and then
another 10 when I've opens a small project. I'm not sure how TS/Citrix works
these days, but it didn't used to share memory very well, meaning I had to
have 50MB memory for each concurrent project user.

Check KB924622 for supported versions of office 2007 on Terminal Server (and
therefore Citrix also).

I heard of an issue of ProjectPro crashing, but a fix from Citrix solved
this. I don't have specifics though.

We have had issues also and recommend users do remote desktop instead of
trying to access Project from Citrix

I work in a petroleum company and we have a great problem with the low
speed connection for some user tha works in the petroleum plataforms,
some plataforms stay 500Km offshore so our links with this plataforms
is very low...

At now... for this cases, only for this cases, we use citrix with
sucess.. we think about use citrix for all users, but we discart this
because of another internal problems what we have here...
Generally, i think that you will have only good things using citrix
for all clients...
