Using html format for hyperlinks

When I use the HTML format and then highlight the text in
the e-mail, go to insert hyperlink, then type in the url,
it does not display on the e-mail. I even sent out the e-
mail to see if it can be viewed when sent, but this
doesn't work either. Does anyone know what may solve this
issue?
