Using Microsoft Project for Earned Value Calculations

Besides the Project Professional Help File, what resources would you
recommend for EV implementation techniques & best practices using Microsoft
Project.

Just so I'm clear, I'm NOT looking for information on EV Theory, just
specific examples on how EV may be implemented using Microsoft Project.

Thanks!

Easy!!
Schedule all resource assignments accurately (100% is rarely accurate)
Save a baseline
Track realistically (no work in past incomplete, no work in future complete
give or take a day or 2)

Typically only skilled users of Project produce a schedule where the data
entered provides meaningful and worthwhile earned value results. New and ad
hoc schedulers need a lot of training and coaching and auditing of schedules
to get up to speed.
If you don't do this, then earned value is simply garbage in garbage out.

Remember earned value is about costs so if you don't have/want to enter
costs and want to be more hours of work focused, set the rate for all
resources to $1
