Using Styles Crashes Word 2003

When in a document (dot or doc) and try to scroll down the styles list Word
crashes. It also crashes when trying to change the style from the styles
toolbar. How do I fix this?

Hi Caj,

It could be a left over temp file, a corrupted document or template or a registry glitch.

Does this happen in any document or just certain ones?

If you start Word 2003 while holding down the ctrl key as you click on the icon and then open the same document do you get the same
problem?

OK. I think the left over temp file is the problem. and I didn't have the
problem when I started Word in Safe mode. Now, how do I get rid of left over
temp files?

Hi Caj,

It could be an add-in causing the problem but to start with temp files
Start=>Search
and recycle files found with
~$*.*;~W*.*;*.tmp

Thanks Bob. I think that worked. It still crashed once when I opened a new
doc. but not when I opened another file that I was working on.
