utilize FP to post classroom notes.

Hi,
I am high school science teacher and I want to post my
notes on my page using FP 2002. Is adobe my only option
for posting notes? Or, is there a way that I can copy the
pages and put them consecutively on a FP page. I have
access to a scanner.

I have been told I can copy them and save them as images.
What is the best and most efficient way.

Thanks

Most efficient is to keep it all simple. Copy text from Microsoft
Word and paste into FrontPage.

Scanning text is generally out of the question for readable content
and is best used for archiving. Lots of issues to discuss about scanning.
Suffice it to say that it is very difficult to achieve a high fidelity
result
while 'optimizing' the image sufficiently to allow acceptable page load
and display time for those that use modems.

Converting Microsoft Word files to .pdf files using Adobe's
software produces very good results for those concerned with
providing content in a format that is not by default editable.

What about hand written notes? Also, how many k's is a
hand written notes page image that is scanned?

The size of the scanned page will depend on a number of
variables: size of page scanned, resolution of scan, etc.
Since you state you have access to a scanner, I would
suggest that you simply scan a page of your notes and see
for yourself.

I would further suggest that you start typing your lesson
notes using a word processor. That way you will not have
to deal with scanning pages and the issue of readability
of the finished product.

All the more reason for you to take what you have learned from
this discussion and continue to research the MathML.

Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) 1.01 Specification

Gentle Introduction to MathML
SEE: http://www.dessci.com/en/support/tutorials/mathml/default.htm

There's been significant interest in MathML, what works and what
does not. IMO the most significant shortcoming has been the problems
rendering results in the browsers. I think SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)
is making progress in that regard.
