VBA Project disappeared!

Hi, I have a single project (out of several hundred) that does not have a VBA
Project. When I open the project, I get an MS Visual Basic error - File not
found. Any magic way of putting the the project back?

Ben:

Sounds like corruption in the VBA stream. Have you tried rinsing through
XML?

Hi Ben,

do you get "File not found" when opening the project file or "Error
accessing file. Network connections may have been lost" when startin VB
Editor?

If so, I am looking forward to any solution you will find.
Currently I am working with two solutions: If the user doesn't need macros
and is a patient person, we don't do anything and he keeps accepting the
message. If there is a need to correct that, we use Gary's suggestion and
use XML. We cut down the implications by overwriting the existing file with
the new one created by XML. So at least ProjectUID is not changed. All users
of reports and cube MSP_Project_Timesheet are told that they need to keep
this very project in mind ....

I had a support call with MS, but it was closed without any solution.

My main reason in writing an answer without knowing any: Do you have any
idea what could be different with this project/client/user? As I wrote, I
have that issue quite often at one customer, but different project owners. I
would like to know the root cause to train people to avoid them.

Good luck!
Barbara

Hi Ben,

thank you for your answer. I cross my fingers that your number of projects
will not increase, I have at least 8 projects (out of 400) like that in one
installation.

Regards
Barbara

P.s.: I haven't had that error with EGT so far. To be honest I would prefer
that, since I know exactly how to resolve ;-) - thanks Gary!.
