In our computer labs, using HELP in Office is almost
unbearable. Once you've chosen it, your computer is
virtually useless for 60 seconds or more while help
loads. This is so frustrating, since I try to teach my
students the value of using help before asking an
instructor how to do something. Even *I* don't like using
help in this lab.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it merely a
problem of running the application off the network instead
of a local install? I'm not sure of our exact setup, but
I know that some files are local and some are on the
network. However, before I approach our computer system
support I want to see if this is a common problem.
