VERY SLOW STARTUP OF WORD & EXCEL IN WIN XP

J

JR

Hi

Because I am in the training business, I have to have a number of versions
of Office on my Windows XP machine. These are Office 97, XP (2002) and 2003.

Usually when I first try to open Word 2002 or 2003, it can take up to five
minutes for the program to open. All I get when I double click the icon is a
message saying "Preparing to install....."

This is EVERY TIME I just try to open Word 2002 or 2003.

Is this problem because Windows XP is confused with all my versions, or
what.

It's very frustrating to say the least.

Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, do you (hopefully) have a
solution.

Thanks,

JR
