Video background

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a video running as a background
in PowerPoint, while having text and pictures animating over the top?

I know of 2 plugins that offer this but they are quite expensive and was
looking
for an alternative.

Yes that is an interesting approach.

Unfortunately I was hoping for something involving less programming.

Will a video converted to a Flash movie do the trick?

Andy,

ppt always plays 'media' (flash or video or anything) OVER the top of it's
own content.

So no, a flash video will not help.

You could have your video software put the text on top of the video - as
another option

The best option (in my opinion) is OfficeFX (www.instanteffects.com). I use
this add-in for some fantastic presentation effects. But it is not
economical and requires a powerful computer...
