Video in powerpoint 2000 fails

After applying the latest updates from office updates to
my machine, I can't display videos I link into a
slideshow. I can view the mpg's in media player so I know
they are fine, just not in powerpoint. Help?

Do you get an error message or anything? What happens when you try to
play or insert the video into PPT?
